It has tannins that are medium to full and some citrus, chocolate, or spice notes.

Ceylon teas are produced from Camellia sinensis, the dried leaves of the tea plant.

The leaves are often characterized as wiry because they are left with a wire-like look that is long and thin. 

Those leaves are very easy to identify in the world of tea. Most Ceylon tea is orthodox tea, which means that it has been hand-processed, making a brisk, bright tea.

1. Decrease Risk of Cancer

It includes polyphenols, including tannins, catechins, and flavonoids.

Polyphenols are compounds that are plant-based that can have health benefits. 

Researchers have linked flavonoid intake to significant health benefits, including a decreased risk of developing cancer.

A meta-analysis of 17 studies found drinking Ceylon tea can decrease the frequency of osteoporosis.

It increased the development of mitochondrial sirtuin 3 (SIRT3) by polyphenols (which improves ketogenesis).

Drinking Ceylon tea is very healthy as it has many health benefits.

However, it can rarely interfere with drugs. If ingested in sufficient amounts, it contains enough caffeine and polyphenols to cause reactions.

It is not recommended that pregnant women drink it due to the notable caffeine content present in this tea.

Not to mention the fact that most babies do not absorb caffeine in utero, as this can lead to complications in pregnancy.
